We are a small friendly group who welcome new members.

Membership offers:

The opportunity to help survey vernacular buildings in need of recording, and research their history. Detailed training is given in the necessary techniques, complete with all the equipment, tools and insurance cover.Bedlington walkabout 2011 (photo by Dick Graham)

Visits and talks about places with vernacular interest and/or historic merit, led by knowledgeable guides.

Members’ Days to meet, hear about projects and information, or exchange ideas.

A yearly Newsletter which summarises survey work, reports on events, and lists future activities (see News and Programme on the Menu above).

2012 Stanhope Stonehouse Castle & Garden 028NEVAG’s occasional Building Studies volumes and other publications such as The Bricks and Brickwork of Northumberland and Durham, 1650-1850 at special member’s rates.

Membership fees primarily cover NEVAG’s running costs, including publishing building studies, and providing equipment and insurance cover. A small additional charge (up to £5) may be made to cover the cost of individual events
